Member Standard

WAAFHA Seal of Excellence

Provider centered. Resident conscious.

The WAAFHA Seal of Excellence is a commitment every WAAFHA member makes to residents, families, fellow providers, and the communities we serve. Membership means upholding the following standards every day.

Our member commitments

  1. 01

    Respect residents

Treat every resident with dignity, compassion, and fairness. Protect their privacy, choices, and rights, and listen when they raise a concern.

  2. 02

    Provide safe, dependable care

Maintain a safe home, follow each resident’s care plan, and ensure staff have the qualifications, training, and support needed for their work.

  3. 03

    Act with honesty

Communicate truthfully with residents, families, employees, payers, and public agencies. Keep accurate records and address mistakes promptly.

  4. 04

    Prevent harm and report concerns

Take concerns about abuse, neglect, exploitation, or unsafe care seriously. Protect residents and make reports required by law.

  5. 05

    Treat workers fairly

Provide clear expectations, appropriate training, and a workplace where staff can raise safety concerns without retaliation.

  6. 06

Follow the law and keep improving

Maintain required licenses and comply with applicable care, safety, and employment requirements. Use feedback and inspection findings to improve.

  7. 07

    Represent WAAFHA responsibly

Treat other members respectfully, participate in good faith, and never claim that WAAFHA membership replaces state licensing or guarantees a home’s quality of care.

Accountability

Every member agrees to uphold these commitments as a condition of membership. WAAFHA may review a credible concern, give the member an opportunity to respond, and require corrective action when appropriate. Serious or repeated violations may result in suspension or termination of membership under WAAFHA’s bylaws and adopted procedures. WAAFHA will refer concerns to the appropriate authority when required by law.

The Seal of Excellence expresses a member’s commitment to these standards. It is not a state certification, inspection rating, or guarantee of care.

Take the pledge
